Information about the resort

The SALAMANDRA Resort is situated in the middle of the unique nature of the Štiavnické Hills, close to the historically significant town of Banská Štiavnica. The modern and technically high quality resort offers skiers an ideal sports experience on moderately demanding slopes in a unique environment with an extraordinary historical heritage.
SALAMANDRA Resort is the southernmost situated resort in Slovakia. This makes it the closest accessible ski resort with a cable car for skiers from western and southern Slovakia. Two access roads lead to the resort: Žarnovica - Hondruša-Hámre - the cable car boarding station or Horná Roveň - the cable car exit station. It is one of the most interesting ski resorts in Slovakia due to its north-western orientation of the ski slope, optimal difficulty and relatively cold winter weather.
The resort is attractive for its modern four-seater chairlift with bubbles, non-contact turnstile system, modern snowmaking system, natural lake, the so-called "taich", and quality facilities necessary for professional operation during the winter season.
For children's visitors there is a children's ski lift as well as the services of a ski kindergarten. There are free parking lots, a bar with hot and cold food, ski, snowboard and cross-country ski rental, ski service, ski shop, rescue service and ski school.
SALAMANDRA hotel, located just below the ski slopes, has a total capacity of 156 beds. The hotel facilities include congress halls, wellness centre, children's corner, restaurant, bar, non-stop reception, squash and billiards.
